VANILLA AND ALMOND DESSERT CAKE
The Vanilla Gourmet Extract looks fantastic drizzled over this cake for a special dessert treat
SERVING SIZE:
Serves 6-8
INGREDIENTS:
200g Alfa One Rice Bran Oil Spread
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon Hansells Gourmet Vanilla Extract with Seeds
1 ½ cups flour
3 teaspoons Hansells Baking Powder
Topping
¼ cup Alfa One Rice Bran Oil Spread
¼ cup sugar
1 cup slivered almonds
2 teaspoons Hansells Gourmet Vanilla Extract with Seeds
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cream oil spread and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix in Gourmet Vanilla Extract, flour and baking powder until combined. Spoon mixture into a baking paper bottom lined 20cm round cake tin. Bake at 180 degrees C for 40 minutes.
Topping: Place oil spread, sugar and almonds in a saucepan. Heat, stirring until the sugar melts. Bring to the boil and boil for 5 minutes. Mix in Gourmet Vanilla Extract.
Remove cake from oven and quickly add topping. Return to oven and cook for a further 10 - 15 minutes or until cake is cooked. Remove from oven and drizzle Gourmet Vanilla Extract over hot cake. Leave to cool.
Serve with cream or ice cream, drizzled with Gourmet Vanilla Extract.
