Toffee

INGREDIENTS:

2 Cups of Sugar

1/2 Cup Water

1 teaspoon butter

1/4 t Hansells Cream of Tartar

1 teapsoon Hansells vanilla or raspberry essence

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Lightly grease a 7" x 7" pan.  Put sugar, water, butter and cream of tartar into a thick bottomed saucepan. Boil without stirring for 30-40 minutes or until the mixture forms brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat. Gently stir in vanilla or raspberry essence. Carefully pour into greased tray to set.
