Hansells Food Group employs approximately 200 people across administration, sales, production and logistics. Below is an introduction to the business’ leaders.
Based in Thailand, Varapong is also the Chief Operating Officer of a third generation family owned company involved with rice export (Kamolkij) and vegetable oil manufacturing and marketing (Kasisuri). As COO for the Kasisuri Group, he has been responsible for the overall operations of two major companies.
Educated in the U.K., Varapong has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a GCE in chemistry, mathematics and physics. He began his career with The Shell Company of Thailand in 1983 and through his career and varying senior management positions has gained significant experience in finance and accounting, manufacturing, marketing, human resource development, and debt restructuring, with extensive Project Development work in the real estate industry in Thailand (commercial and residential).
Ross has been involved in the New Zealand Food industry for 37 years. After six years as a Food Scientist with the DSIR he founded the company Old Fashioned Foods that has evolved into what is now Hansells Food Group, a significant player in FMCG. He maintains his passion for food innovation and still has a very hands on role in product development and seeking new opportunities.
Alan is a Chartered Accountant in Public Practice in Masterton and has been a Director of Hansells Food Group Ltd since 2000. Previously Managing Director of Hansells (NZ) Ltd from 1987 till 1998 and now Chairman of Hansells Masterton Ltd since it was purchased from the Group in 2014. Alan is also a Director of other large private companies with particular interests in food manufacturing.
